LGBTIQA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer/questioning, asexual).

Pride Month was recognized to commemorate the Stonewall riots of June 1969. Every year Pride events are held across the world to recognize the impact LGBTIQA+ people have had in this world and to celebrate and embrace identity.

Did You Know?

LGBTIQA+ population has higher rates of substance abuse, depression and anxiety? An estimated 20-30% of LGBTIQA+ individuals abuse substances, compared to about 9% of the general population. In addition, LGBTIQA+ individuals as compared to people that identify as straight, are 3 times more likely to experience a mental health condition.

Tackling these challenges and mental health symptoms is the first step to well-being.

What can you do?

Actively provide resources and emotional support to LGBTIQA+ family and friends. Whether you are an ally or a member of the community, lets work together to foster supportive environments that positively impact mental well-being.
