San Francisco Health Service System (SFHSS) administers your Medical, Vision, Dental, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), and Voluntary Benefits programs.

Beginning this year, your health benefits Open Enrollment (OE) letters will no longer be mailed. With paper mail going away, we will be emailing you all your benefits reminders and updates. It is extremely important to check that we have your Preferred Email. Go to SF My Hub and follow these steps:

  1. Click here, to visit SF My Hub.
  2. Click on My Information tab.
  3. On the left panel, click on Contact Details.
  4. Under Email Address, you can update or add emails.

How to Opt Back In To Receive Open Enrollment Email Notifications

If you previously opted out of receiving emails from the City or you have not been receiving the monthly HSS Newsletter, follow these steps:

  1. Click here, to take you to the sign-up form.
  2. Enter your email address, click on I'm not a robot tick box. 
  3. Click the Submit button.
  4. Check your email and open the confirmation message.
  5. You must click on the confirmation link provided in that email, which is the final step to complete the opt back in process.

Important Timelines

Stay ahead of Open Enrollment with these important dates and deadlines. Open Enrollment for Plan Year 2027 runs from October 1 through October 23, 2026, ending at 5 p.m. PST. To be considered on time, all paper applications and any required supporting documents must be postmarked by October 23, 2026.

  • The Open Enrollment (OE) tile will become available in SF My Hub, allowing you to make your benefit elections for the 2027 plan year.
     
  • A new OE dropdown menu on SFHSS.org will be available with tailored benefit information. Select your employer group.
     
  • Next year's health benefit premium rates will be available on your employer page.

Mark your calendar with these important Open Enrollment (OE) dates. Open Enrollment ends on October 23, 2026, and you will not be able to make any changes for Plan Year 2027 if you miss the deadline.

Why am I not receiving a physical Open Enrollment letter this year?
SFHSS is moving to digital communications for Open Enrollment. Employees of the City and County of San Francisco and San Francisco Superior Court will no longer receive an Open Enrollment letter by mail.

What is SF My Hub?
SF My Hub is the online portal where SFHSS members can manage and update their health benefits enrollment during the annual Open Enrollment and when members experience a Qualifying Life Event. Also, members can update personal contact information like email, address, and phone number.

Why is it important to update my email address?
Your email address will be used to send important notifications, reminders, and Open Enrollment updates.

What contact information should I review in SF My Hub?
Members should review and update their email address, mailing address, and phone number if any information has changed.

What happens if my contact information is outdated?
You may miss important communications regarding Open Enrollment, benefits updates, or required actions. And if you miss this information, you may miss important enrollment deadlines, which may cause a termination in your health benefits. 

Do I still need to take action during Open Enrollment if I do not want to make changes?
Members should still review their benefits information during Open Enrollment and monitor communications from SFHSS for any required actions or updates.

When should I update my contact information?
Members are encouraged to update their information as soon as it changes and review it annually before Open Enrollment begins.

Who can I contact if I need help accessing SF My Hub?
If you are unable to log into the Employee Portal or SF My Hub, please contact the City and County of San Francisco’s Department of Technology Help Desk at (628) 652-5000 between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. You will be asked to provide your DSW (Employee ID) Number and additional information to validate your identity.
