The Health Service Board meetings will be held on the second Thursday of each month at 1:00 pm in City Hall Room 416.

Director's Report
The director’s report provides the Health Service Board with updates on current department projects and programs. The report may share healthcare news. The report will announce new staff at SFHSS.

HSS Financial Report as of June 30, 2024
The finance report gives updates on the department budget. The report tracks the monthly spending in the three accounts we manage. The department must have an auditor review how it uses money in the budgets. The report will list any reviews and when they are complete.

Strategic Plan Goal #2 Update: Advance Primary Care Practice
The strategic plan outlines the top goals for the department. The presentation will give updates on the improvements in advanced primary care.

BSC MAPD PPO Transition Plan Update
Retirees will have the Blue Shield of California MAPD PPO plan starting January 1, 2025. This presentation explains how SFHSS and Blue Shield of California will help members switch to the new plan.

Open Enrollment Plan for 2025 and Member Engagement Plans
All employees can sign up for benefits for the next year. This presentation tells when employees can sign-up and how members can learn more about their benefits. The presentation also shares when they can go to learning sessions and get a free flu shot.

A performance guarantee outlines how a health plan can give high quality service. This is a report about SFHSS uses performance guarantees. Health equity means that everyone has a fair chance to be as healthy as possible, no matter their race, money, or where they live. This report is about how SFHSS will measure health equity.

Public Comment Call-In: 415-655-0001 / Access Code: 2661 444 1531
Providing Public Comment:
- Dial into 415-655-0001 and then enter access code 2661 444 1531 then #
- Enter the Webinar Password: 1145 then press #
- Press # again to enter the meeting as an ATTENDEE
- You will hear a beep when you join the meeting as a participant.
- Stop and LISTEN
- Wait for Public Comment to be announced.
- When Public Comment is called, dial * then 3 to be added to the speaker line.
- You will then hear “You have raised your hand to ask a question, please wait to speak until the host calls on you.” Callers will hear silence when waiting for their turn to speak.
- To withdraw your question, press* then 3. – you will hear: “You have lowered your hand.”
- When the system message says “Your line has been unmuted” - THIS IS YOUR TIME TO SPEAK.
- When the President or Commission Secretary states “Welcome Caller,” you are encouraged to state your name clearly. As soon as you speak, you will have 3 minutes to provide your comments.
- Once your 3 minutes have expired, you will be moved out of the speaker line and back as a participant in the meeting (unless you disconnect). You will hear “Your line has been muted.”
- Participants who wish to speak on other public comment periods can stay on the meeting line and listen for the next public comment opportunity.
Best Practices when calling in for Public Comment:
• Call from a quiet location
• Speak slowly and clearly
• Turn down any televisions or radios around you
• Address the Commission as a whole, do not address individual CommissionersWritten Public Comment
Persons unable to attend the meeting may submit written public comments regarding an agenda item. These comments will be made part of the official public record and shall be brought to the attention of the Health Service Board. Written public comment expected to be part of the official record should be submitted to the Board email health.service.board@sfgov.org and received by 5 pm on Wednesday, September 12, 2024. Members can also call 628-652-4646 with any questions.
All comments received by the deadline will be forwarded to Board members, and the Board Secretary will note on the record during the specific agenda item that the Board received written public comment on that item and will include that note in the meeting minutes. In the body of your email, indicate the meeting date and the particular agenda item number. If you do not specify an agenda item, your emailed public comment will be read under general comment.
